Calm, Clear & Inspired: Detoxing in January

January is a great time to dream big, nourish desire, and vision the future. And if we then bring into being practices, rituals, routines, and relationships that take us in the direction of our dreams and visions than we will find that the habits and attitudes that are not nourishing us will generally fall away on their own…..

Vision, Desire, & Intention: The Art of Becoming

I have always felt strongly that I wanted to craft my life, and choose my lifestyle, and I attribute the fact that I am living the life of my dreams to the practices of clarifying my vision, cultivating my desires, and setting my intentions, which I do on a regular basis. To me these practices support the art of becoming and have allowed me to feel engaged in the creative act of shaping my future for as long as I can remember.

While I haven’t been writing much this past week I have been busy making some short videos for your home practice. I will do my best to add new videos each week and you can subscribe to my You Tube Channel to stay updated if you like.

Cleansing Comfortably in January

To support you in making lifestyle shifts that will support your overall health and wellness in 2012 I’d like to offer the following tips on how to cleanse safely and comfortably in January. Keep in mind that seasonal cleansing is ideally done in Spring and Fall when nature supports us in eating lighter so January can be a challenging time to lighten up, especially if you live in a cold climate. Winter Wisdom Restorative Practice

Here is a very simple restorative practice from the handouts for my Seasonal Wisdom Workshop that is coming up this Sunday the 18th. This practice would be an ideal way to start a gentle winter day off or for ending a busy day when you get home from work….

Meditations on Subtlety & Spaciousness

This time of the year is characterized by the qualities of subtlety, lightness, dryness, and mobility and this morning I could feel each of these qualities so clearly. The dry frosty ground beneath my feet, the cold wind on my skin, the lightness of the tree branches looking so fragile without their leaves, and the subtlety of light and morning mist that lends mystery to this season. It is beautiful for sure and lends itself to the more subtle practices such as reflection, inquiry and deep meditation. You may find that you are more naturally drawn to these practices or that those of you who have established meditation practices can go deeper more readily….

Siva-Sakti and the Healing Currents of Grace

This past weekend we hosted the fabulous Robin Golt at Coastal Bliss Yoga Studio for an exploration of Anusara Yoga and Siva Sakti Tantra. We had a wonderful group of participants who all committed to the entire weekend which allowed us to create a mood of real focus. It was a deeply nourishing and inspirational weekend.

Manipura Chakra: The Wheel of the Jewel City

The third chakra is known as Manipura Chakra, or the City of Shining Jewels. Located in the area of the solar plexus it’s essence is Personal Will and Manifestation. It is a masculine power center, ruled by the element of Fire and when it is in balance we feel confident, energetic, and generous. We have…

Swadhistana Chakra: The Wheel of One’s Own Abode

I had a wonderful day off yesterday. Talked to my mother, sister, aunt, grandma, and mum in law in the morning. Had a hot bath before going to an awesome yoga class, went out for a delicous lunch at Sobo with my husband after yoga class. Walked the dogs on the beach. Had a hottub…

Muladhara Chakra: The Wheel of Root Support

Over the next seven weeks I will work with the chakras in our Wednesday night Moving into Stillness class. You can find info about the chakras here after each class. The chakra system is an aspect of our subtle anatomy that was mapped out by the ancient yogis who had experiential knowledge of it gained…
