About Natalie
Who Am I?
I am a yoga nerd. I have been a full time yoga student since 2000, and I imagine I will be studying till the day I die as I am endlessly fascinated by the depth and power of both the practices, and the teachings, of this great art. I began my teaching career in 2002 and haven’t looked back since. When I am not in a classroom or on my mat you will find me in my kitchen cooking (I love to cook, and eat!), or walking in the mountains of Whistler BC with my husband and son. I have been blessed to have had the opportunity to study with many amazing teachers and I am forever indebted to them for all that they have, and continue to, share with me. If you would like to learn more about who I’ve studied with and what certifications I’ve earned to date click here.
Why do I teach yoga?
I teach yoga because I believe in it’s power to heal and transform.
Until I stepped onto the yoga mat for the first time I truly couldn’t envision a future without self-doubt, grief and fear. What I discovered in my very first yoga class was a practice that gave me a sense of perspective and hope. My commitment to my practice has taught me how to have faith in myself, and in my ability to change, and I figured that if I could do it, than anybody could, so for the last eleven years I have been pouring my heart into teaching yoga and sharing what I have learned with others. To me yoga is a path of both self empowerment and deep humility and being a teacher on this path is one of the greatest delights of my life.
What can you expect from one of my yoga classes?
You can expect to be seen. You can expect to be met where you are, and inspired to go further. You can expect to be challenged, encouraged and empowered. You can expect to learn something new, to surprise yourself, and to gain greater insight into what yoga can do for you.
Do you need to be an expert at yoga to receive what I have to offer?
Not at all. All you need is an intention to enter into a deeper relationship with yourself and a curiosity about what you may discover, with that intention you will be able to receive everything I have to give, and so much more.
